Agneya is an Indo-Canadian percussionist and composer who approaches rhythm as a meeting point between cultures. Raised in western India and now based in Toronto, he weaves South Asian rhythmic cycles, West African groove traditions, and contemporary improvisation into a sound that is visceral, expansive, and deeply human, balancing intricacy with instinct.
His eponymous debut album AGNEYA (2026) marks his emergence as a bandleader after more than a decade as a sought-after collaborator across jazz, global, and improvised music scenes. Produced by JUNO Award winner Jeremy Ledbetter and featuring an international ensemble, the record unfolds as a borderless sonic journey, tracing an artistic path shaped across India, Canada, and Europe.
