Event Description
City of Kingston invites the community to kick off summer during the Victoria Day weekend!
The Victoria Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and the City of Kingston is inviting residents and visitors to get outdoors, explore our parks and public spaces, and enjoy a free Victoria Day event in Confederation Park on Monday, May 18.
City park amenities are reopening after a long winter throughout the long weekend, including public washrooms, picnic areas and most splash pads, making it easy to plan a day outside with family and friends. It’s a great time to explore downtown shops, restaurants and patios, visit the Public Market, and enjoy a stroll or roll along the waterfront.
The long weekend will conclude with a free evening of live music, a drone show presented by Slush Puppie and fireworks in Confederation Park, delivered by the City’s Special Events Office.
7:00 p.m. - Live from the Visitor Information Centre patio in Confederation Park
Featuring a curated lineup of regular Youth Open Mic performers, the showcase highlights the talent and growth of Kingston’s young artists as they share original compositions and covers—kicking off a Forever Hip summer.
9:30 p.m. – Drone Show presented by Slush Puppie
Look to the sky for a cutting‑edge drone show delivering an unforgettable visual spectacle over the park.
9:35 p.m. – Fireworks
The evening concludes with a dazzling fireworks display.
Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
