Carol Sokoloff’s stirring voice and memorable songs take flight in her new album ‘Change in the Weather.’ Called ‘an intuitively gifted songwriter’ (Kurt Elling, Grammy Awarded), Carol took her songs to Nashville to record with bassist Eli Beaird and Music City’s finest players. The album marks a return to folk roots from the jazz of her debut CD ‘Let. Go!” (2010), 'Change in the Weather’ features thirteen engaging originals celebrating spring, love, music and shared experience in a fresh blend of country, folk and pop flavours.
Accompanying Carol for her local launch is the Island Dream Band consisting of Kenny Seidman on piano; Alex Olson, electric bass; Martina Peladeau, flute; David Pretty, drums and Chris Coey, guitar. Kenny Seidman and Alex Olson are also featured on a track from the album, 'Walk Together Again,’ along with Nanaimo’s Gerry Barnum. The instrumentals for that track were recorded at Victoria’s 1 Ton Studio. Gerry may sit in along with other surprise guests. Maybe even back-up singers! Join the celebration!
