Event Description
On June 28 and 29 we conclude the season with a truly extraordinary artist, Ray Ushikubo, Violinist and Pianist. Equally gifted at both instruments and praised for his “disciplined focus and clarity…marvelous dynamic nuance,” Ushikubo has performed as soloist with orchestras across North America including the LA Phil, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall in NY and Disney Hall in LA. First prize winner at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and young Steinway Artist, Ushikubo will present his Eine Kleine programmes on both violin and piano in the same concert – a rare feat that highlights his remarkable versatility and musicianship. His program features Schubert’s Grand Piano Sonata in C Minor, Debussy’s L’isle Joyeuse, Chausson’s Poeme for Violin and Piano, and Ravel’s Tzigane with Lorraine Min, pianist.
