Straight To You: A Tribute to Nick Cave. This tribute concert is an immersive journey through the decades-long odyssey of Nick Cave: from the post-punk chaos of the 1970s to the transcendent, communal experiences of his modern work in the 2020s. It honors a man who shifted the tectonic plates of rock music—a preacher, a punk, and a poet who taught us that there is as much holiness in the gutter as there is in the cathedral.
Straight To You features a curated line-up of local Victoria artists who will take you on a descent into Cave’s psyche, moving between primal aggression and orchestral beauty. The evening will highlight the monuments of Cave's expansive career; including the jagged and industrial cacophonous sounds from his earliest work with The Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party; the "Southern Gothic" narrative storytelling of romance and murder from The Bad Seeds; the raw and abstract meditations on grief, love, and the "Wild God" of his most recent works.
In 2026, Nick Cave remains more relevant than ever because he represents the transcendent power of music. This tribute isn't just a "greatest hits" show; it’s an exploration of how an artist can age with grace and grit, constantly reinventing themselves while remaining anchored to a singular, uncompromising vision.
