Event Description
on the ‘hat is an ensemble of musical friends (Marnie Setka-Mooney, soprano; Diane Berry, flute; Kathryn Le Gros piano) that has performed together over many years, but just in the last few years under this name. The name of the group recognizes that the Malahat is a connector for the members; Marnie lives in Lake Cowichan, Kathryn in Victoria’s Westshore and Diane in the Mount Douglas area of Victoria. Some of their earliest performances were concerts of contemporary classical music, and have come back to that even recently with a performance of Canadian women composers. During Covid they performed live-streamed events celebrating Advent and Lent, as well as a feature video. While all three are classical musicians, their love of the music of a variety of genres has meant they each have played with other ensembles specializing in jazz, folk, and even oldies rock. They now bring that eclectic mix together in their programs.
This is the fifth concert in the monthly series Musical Melange, taking place the 4th Sunday of the month at 2pm, from September 2025 to May 2026. Each concert will feature different musicians and genres.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
