About the Film: A newly engaged couple stranded by a storm stumble into the gothic mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, an eccentric “sweet transvestite” unveiling his latest creation: a musclebound man named Rocky. Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) stars Tim Curry in a flamboyant breakout role, alongside Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, as the night spirals into a delirious mix of rock musical, sci-fi spoof, and sexual revolution. Transforming from box office oddity to midnight-movie phenomenon, it ignited a global cult following that continues to redefine audience participation and queer celebration in cinema.
