Base31 is proud to host a celebration of the remarkable artistic achievements of renowned Mohawk artist David R. Maracle. This Celebration will not only showcase David’s illustrious musical career, but will also feature “special” guest appearances, and the launch of his very first limited-edition red/orange vinyl album, “The Path to Totality”, that honours the Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools. Additionally, David will unveil his first-ever coffee table book—a retrospective of his poetry and artistic life, entitled “Elemental Daydreamer”

About David R. Maracle:
David R. Maracle, Bear Clan, Tehanenia’kwè:tarons – (Cutter of the Stone) has been crafting his artistry since 1985, from his home community of Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka-Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Through his magnificent prize-winning stone sculptures, musical compilations and all aspects of his entrepreneurial ventures as a business owner on his Indigenous Territory, David brings to life the ancestral teachings of the Haudenosaunee People.
David’s Originals in Stone sculptures are celebrated worldwide, with many corporations and private collectors owning his work, including the estate of the late Nelson Mandela, the Emperor of Japan, Dan Aykroyd and Loretta Lynn.
In addition to being a world-renowned sculptor of stone, David is also an international award-winning multi-instrumentalist, musician, poet, composer and producer who has released over 18 musical compilations and scores for various award-winning documentaries during his multifaceted career. To date, David has received two Gold Records from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his world fusion ambient melodies of the Iroquoian Love Flute and his personal collection of rare world instruments.
