Catch an especially Original Thursday with the now famous Songwriter Circle at The Cove Inn featuring local artists Meghan Balogh, Jeff Callery, Seamus Cowan, Shawn McCullough & Eric Uren (Folk/Rock/Country, Brockville/Westport) from 7-10pm, $15 cover.

​​Meghan Balogh can be hear heard with her partner Eric Uren on Sundays and Tuesdays at The Cove Inn, supporting comedian Tom Green in his new band, in Kingston folk super group The Gertrudes and alongside JUNO Award-winning folk artist, David Francey. She is an integral part of Seventh Town, a Prince Edward County group who channel Celtic sounds and who will be playing the annual Robbie Burns Supper.

Jeff ​Callery has been playing music for more than half of his life. He hit the road young playing with his band in bars, fairs, festivals and theaters all over the province of Ontario, Quebec and New York State. He won the ‘99 NY State Tru Value Country Star Search, the ‘07 NY State Colgate Country Showdown and placed in the National Semi-Finals of that same contest in West Virginia. His sound fits somewhere between James Taylor, John Mellencamp and Blue Rodeo.

​Seamus Cowan has been playing music since his high school days when he started bluesy rock power trio Bullmoose with his friend Eric Lawrance and brother Jeff Cowan. Since living in Montreal and studying at McGill in Jazz, he has played all over North America, touring in Montreal’s The High Dials, Bullmoose, Miss Emily, JP Houston and the Murder. He performed for years playing Jazz Montreal and every style under the sun with musical genius, Spencer Evans at The Cove for over 25 years. He now runs The Cove, playing with some of the finest around in Young Petty Stones.

​Shawn McCullough is a Master guitar player/singer/alternative lyricist/showman/songwriter. He has played and toured with Canadian Country star Jason McCoy (The Roadhammers) and has been a part of Telecaster supergroup The Telebastards featuring Steve Piticco, Country Pickin’ Mayhem Band with 2 x 7 time CCMA Guitarists of the Year, Wendell Ferguson and Steve Piticco, as well as a member of DoubleBack with Wade Foster and John Wilberforce. He is highly in demand as a session musician and sideman for his incredible skill, wit and stage presence. He has a solo record to his name “This is Me” and is currently performing with rising CMAO and CCMA nominated Country star Brea Lawrenson! His latest accomplishments are a series of singles released on Apple Music and Spotify getting lots of airplay on Country Music Radio. Check out “Change”, “Canadian Soldier”, “Sidewalk”, “Never Drinking Again”…more to come.

Eric Uren has been performing in clubs and pubs across Canada and Europe for over 25 years. His straightforward, honest delivery of well-known songs by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Johnny Cash and Steve Earle connect with audiences of all ages. He is a warm and personable performer who excels at creating a friendly, social atmosphere wherever he takes the stage. His most recent gig has been co-bandleader to Hollywood comedian Tom Green for his recordings and live shows!
