Event Description
On March 29th we will be hosting the 55th anniversary of MVN, a charity variety show put on by the students and faculty of Queen’s School of Medicine. It is a longstanding tradition at our medical school, with participation from over 200 students as well as faculty members. Acts include musical performances, comedic videos, and dance productions such as a Bollywood dance, an a cappella group, and humorous videos created by each of the current medical school classes. Drawing an audience of over 300 each year, MVN has consistently been one of the largest events hosted by the Queen’s School of Medicine. The event is frequented by Queen’s medical faculty, physicians, other healthcare workers from neighboring hospitals, students from the university, and the general Kingston community.
MVN contributes greatly to the local community. As a non-profit, we donate proceeds from our show to organizations based in Kingston and Eastern Ontario. This year, we are splitting our donation equally between the Kingston Youth Shelter and Roots and Wings.
An accessible wheelchair entrance is located to the side of the venue, The Spire, where performers will enter. Wheelchair accommodations will be available in an accessible seating area inside the venue.
Gender neutral washrooms are available at this event.
