Adelphian Concert Choir will give free concerts March 9–12 in Bellingham, Puyallup, Canada
TACOMA, Wash. – University of Puget Sound’s celebrated choral ensemble, the Adelphian Concert Choir, is heading to Bellingham, Puyallup, and Victoria, B.C. on their annual spring tour this March.
The Adelphians will present joint concerts with a number of other choral ensembles including the Bellingham HS Showstoppers, University of Victoria Chamber Singers, and the Pierce College Concert Choir while on this year’s tour. And their repertoire includes music by Hagen, Macdonald, Martini, Nunes-Garcia, Vovk, while encompassing music from the classical repertoire through vocal jazz and Todd Rundgren.

Founded in 1932, the Adelphian Concert Choir is recognized as one of the Northwest’s most acclaimed collegiate choral ensembles. For over 90 years, the choir has sustained a level of choral excellence that has brought accolades from audiences in Canada, Europe, and on the West Coast. They have appeared at the state, regional and national conferences of the American Choral Conductor’s Association, the National Association for Music Education, and Society for Composers, Inc. Since 2008, the choir has been led by Dr. Steven Zopfi. Zopfi has served on the faculties of Penn State University, the University of Washington, and Pacific Lutheran University as well as serving as Artistic Director of the Portland Symphonic Choir from 2003 – 2018. Currently he is the Artistic Director of the Tacoma Bach Festival.
The School of Music at University of Puget Sound, situated within a nationally recognized liberal arts university, prepares students to be broad-minded, creative, arts-aware social leaders. It empowers students to create the diverse musical offerings and effective educational programs of the future. From the classroom to the concert hall, the school cultivates students’ self-expression, cultural competency, and critical engagement.
