Jeff Younger Presents Vol. 57
** THE FAMILY STUMP - UNPLUGGED:
Vancouver's most notoriously inappropriate and bizarre country band has been keeping one step ahead of the law and 2 steps ahead of flying wieners and plastic babies. The band returns to its second home, the storied Railway Club, to weave its grin inducing country madness as an intimate acoustic quartet! 2 boys, 2 girls, glorious songs, charming family storytelling, and a hundred moments of subtly disturbing hilarity! Think The Mighty Wind, but windier. Think Frank Zappa, but at the Grand Ol' Opry. Think about the best thing you ever ate that made your tummy feel weird after... think STUMP UNPLUGGED!!! This show's lineup features: Jeff Younger, Juhli Conlinn, Joseph Blood and Jen Hodge.

** TIGER PRAWN:
no hooks! no chorus! no verse! no bridge! no BS! this is TIGER-PRAWN from east van. Reckless improvisation in all styles! This 2-piece wrecking crue is SHOCKK & JOHNNY WILDKAT - both touring veterans. they just did a mini tour w/PJ HARVEY in Spain, also did some improv clinics at Berklee college of music last year.
if you’re thinking free jazz......don’t! TIGER-PRAWN influences include 24-7 spyz, Brighton Rock, Glass tiger, Steve Morse era Kansas, Foghat, Tony Mac alpine, Saga,Raven, Bullet Boys, just to name a few. T-P is the favorite band of the legendary Railway Club staff!.... imagine how many bands they have seen? year after year - jazz, metal kids think they work it out? NOPE! 2 shots of JD each before stage is all the prep TIGER-PRAWN needs!
** THE ANDRE CHRYS BAND
Vancouver roots rock with plenty of soul, a touch of twang and stellar songwriting. The Georgia Straight said: Andre Chrys is a singer-songwriter with a taste for the sort of barstool wisdom and dirty-old-town laments that used to be the sole domain of Tom Waits. The lyrics of "Guardian Angel (You've Been Drinking on the Job)", for instance, are cute in a way that the author of "The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)" might appreciate, even if the title gives everything away. "The Modification Song" is equally clever, with its observations of our constant drive--and utter failure--to perfect ourselves.

** COMPANY WTF
Funny, foxy and fearless: the two gals who make up Vancouver's most charming, ukulele driven duo (also known as dukulele!), Company WTF! Odes to mustard, ex-boyfriends, and a grinning take on the best and worst of things. You will love it in a "That was so awesome! WTF?!?!" kinda way.
