Event Description
"Giant Invisible Robot - Russel is quite a reserved man—introspective, unobtrusive and painfully shy. As a child he had one true—albeit invisible—friend. But Russel’s friend was a little different from other kids’ imaginary playmates…he was a Giant Invisible Robot programmed to destroy. And, unlike other kids who grow up and abandon their imaginary friends, Russel has managed to maintain his friendship with Robot over the years, forming an indivisible bond…even though Russel is continuously frustrated by Robot’s need to destroy whole cities and Robot must constantly suppress his programming to avoid crushing Russel like an ant." From the creator of Fall Fair and Boat Load. (Best Male Performer, Innovation Award, Victoria Fringe 2007, 2008)
Jayson McDonald's 09 Fringe show Fall Fair cleaned up at the Pick-of-Fringe awards for Best Show Pick (Times Colonist) and best solo show (Audience Pick). His past hits Giant Invisible Robot and Boat Load play this week as well, as part of the Jayson McDonald Festival of the "Ahts." Proceeds benefit Intrepid Theatre, producers of the Fringe. Followed nightly at 9:30 by Jimmy Hogg's comedy hit "Like a Virgin."
