Event Description
Spygirl’s second full-length studio recording, pieces of evidence, will be released on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Richards On Richards.
The Vancouver band worked with international producer/mixer, Tom Rothrock whose discography includes the likes of Beck, Elliott Smith, Elbow, Badly Drawn Boy, Sloan, Foo Fighters, and James Blunt. 10 songs were recorded in 11 days at The Factory Studios (formerly Little Mountain Sound) and mixed at Embassy Studios in Los Angeles, CA.
Of making the album lead singer Koralee Tonack says, “This is Spygirl fully realized. Tom (Rothrock) listened to a lot of 70’s vinyl before coming up here from LA to record with us, and he captured that warm spacious sound on this album”. Also credited on this record are recording engineer and 2007 Juno nominee Sheldon Zaharko, Pro tools engineer Jerry Wong, and mix engineer, 2007 Grammy nominee, Mike Tarantino.
Spygirl’s release event is scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2007, early show (doors 7pm, show 7:30pm) at Richards On Richards (1036 Richards). Tickets are available online at www.ticketstonight.ca and in person at Highlife Music (1317 Commercial), Red Cat Records (4307 Main), and Zulu Records (1972 West 4th). Prices are $12 in advance or $15 at the door plus applicable service charges.
