Created upon the shoulders of Vancouver bands The Matinee and The Day Release Program, Blue Collar Records offers listeners a diverse and eclectic mix of rock music that effortlessly fuses elements of blues, folk, reggae, and pop. The MATINEE is emerging as one of Vancouver's finest songwriting teams. Blending a passion for fine ale and finely-crafted tunes, Matt Rose and Matt Layzell have combined to offer a unique sound that is quickly attracting both national and international audiences. Matt Layzell has spent over seven years playing countless shows across the country as lead singer of the successful Vancouver rock group Ten Ways From Sunday. Matt Rose has been playing guitar and writing songs for over a decade in noted Vancouver rock/country band Fera, The Matlocks, Jeff Johnson, TwinCity and Day Release Program. Together, the two Matts write songs that paint pictures of empty bottles and broken hearts, broken bottles and empty hearts... and maybe the odd unpaid speeding ticket. Now with 'Pukin' Pete Lemon on drums and Aaron 'Enron' McKinney on bass... their collection of songs has come to life. With their first full-length album out now, it's show-time for The MATINEE! http://www.myspace.com/thematineebandmusic
The DAY RELEASE PROGRAM - As rock & roll approaches an age of renaissance, The Day Release Program stays true to the elements that make great music: heavy rhythm, solid structure and infectious melodies. As the band sets out on their quest to conquer the West Coast, their live show remains their biggest attraction. From the first song to the last The Day Release Program will hijack your attention and refuse to give it up. And now, with the release of their debut EP "Blue Collar Slobs" the band now has the ammunition to assault music lovers everywhere. If the past year was any indication, the future for these rockers is indeed a bright one. http://www.myspace.com/thedayreleaseprogram
LIVE RUST - Based out of the Vancouver Area LIVE RUST was Formed by Founding Member Roger Potter to pay Tribute to the long enduring and incredible Career of Neil Young, a Canadian Icon of Rock & Roll for the last 40 years. Having seen the lack of a Neil Tribute here on the West Coast, Roger decided to put together what is an overwhelmingly authentic duplication of Mr. Young's Sound and Show in every detail. Even the most die-hard Neil Young Fans have been left wide-eyed at how close this Band has come to the Sound and Feel of Neil Young in Concert...you will believe! http://www.myspace.com/liverustband
DAN SWINIMER - Superbeing's Dan Swinimer will be treating the crowd to a special acoustic solo set of his songs. Be sure to come out and check out one of Vancouver's finest songsmiths! http://www.superbeingmusic.com
