As a local not-for-profit registered charity, Royal and McPherson Theatres Society (RMTS) has managed the operations and maintenance of Victoria’s Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse for over 45 years. Our team is dedicated to connecting artists and audiences to the wonders of the performing arts and ensuring that our historically designated theatres remain a community cornerstone for generations to come.
Each year, our theatres host over 200,000 residents and visitors, fostering community through shared experiences, cultural connections, and local engagement. Our 75+ clients and community partners, including 45 local user groups, present a vast array of arts and cultural entertainment, including music, theatre, dance, opera, comedy, recitals, drag shows, touring Broadway shows, multicultural events, and more. Every event becomes an opportunity for dialogue, reflection, and celebration, emphasizing our organization’s role in the region’s cultural landscape.
RMTS is committed to further supporting our local community through programs and partnerships, including rental subsidizations, visual arts exhibitions of emerging and mid-level artists in the McPherson Playhouse lobbies, community presentations, and sponsorships.
