Kevin Asher

Kevin Asher is a Canadian singer, songwriter and recording artist  originally from Nova Scotia; now living near Kingston, Ontario. Asher is an independent, self-managed artist.

Kevin Asher got his love of performing live by singing Charley Pride and Beatles songs to the lunch crowd at his dad’s restaurant as a 5-year-old in small town Nova Scotia. This progressed to learning how to play drums and eventually guitar as a teen. Raised on a steady diet of classic rock, folk, country and jazz, Asher has developed a sound that is truly original.

After an 8 year stint in Korea teaching English, Asher moved to Ontario and lived the corporate life. It wasn’t until the end of his marriage where he got back in touch with his musical and rural roots and began to write music. The music came fast and furious, writing about 50 songs in couple of years.

Asher’s songs are drenched with a ton of life experience and authenticity with great hooks, superb storytelling with nods to many of his diverse influences. Asher's music is in the style of folk/Alt folk, country, Americana.

These days Asher spends his time equally in Newburgh, Ontario and Toronto writing, recording and performing.
