Oceanic began as a collaboration between Patrick Gross and Cody Beales, who together had a vision for a band that would explore new sounds and beats. The return of Raphaël Perdriau to Vancouver in late 2001 was the spark needed to begin the creative journey. With the right members in place, they have never looked back.
Oceanic draw their inspiration from the electronic and groove based music worlds to shape an aural universe of their own. Their fusion of ambient guitars, samples and keyboard textures capture the mind while relentless rhythms move the body. Combine this with strong vocals and smart songwriting and you begin to understand what Oceanic are all about.
As the core of Oceanic, the three have moved forward, always evolving the live sound with dynamic setlists and segments of improvisation and recently committing to tape the first studio offering – the Departures EP. A 4 song collection released in July 2004, the recording offers a strong representation of a group with a great live show and a confident grip on their potential in the studio. Oceanic can be found performing regularly in diverse venues throughout Vancouver.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
