Parkland is a music project based around the writing and recordings of Rob Malowany. Primarily a singer/songwriter, immersion in the Vancouver creative music scene inspired Malowany to mix improv and textural exploration into his song structures. In a live setting Parkland exists in many forms, from voice with guitar and piano, to an exploratory full-spectrum band with drums, dobro, cello, piano, and bass, together with an array of noise soundscapes and unique textures.
The group’s lineup is an ever-shifting mix of members of the Vancouver creative, experimental, and roots communities, including Stephen Lyons – drums, noise (Fond of Tigers/Sun Belt?Cloudsplitter), Robin James Hunter – dobro, lap steel (The Imagineers, Robin James Hunter Trio), Johnny Wildkat – bass, electric guitar (The Furniture), Shanto Acharia – cello, bass (Fond of Tigers/Limbs of the Stars), Tom Wherrett – electric guitar, noise (Sunkiller/Evil 3+1/Elkhorn), Paul Rigby (Neko Case, Art Bergmann) - pedal steel, electric and acoustic guitars, Jon Wood (Flophouse Jr., Cam Penner. Big Top) - electric guitar, effects and Rob Malowany – voice, guitars, piano, tenor-ion, samples, noise.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
