Bakelite take their name from a revolutionary early plastic that was responsible for the colour appliance explosion in the 1950's. Named after its Belgian inventor, Chemist L.H.Baekeland c.1909 'Bakelite' is actually pronounced "Bay Ka Lite".
Bakelite's patented low-resolution post-pop sound is primed for red-light-saturated, sweaty dance parties. Heavily distorted bass synth and bit-crushed low-fi beats are the backdrop for the aggressive lead synth and kinetic vocals battling at center stage.
With opening slots for bands such as Pretty Girls Make Graves, Ratatat, The Organ, We Ragazzi, and Breaker! Breaker!, Bakelite have been quickly gaining support and momentum. With an album on the way and a non-stop touring agenda watch out for Bakelite making square-waves in your town.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
