Karen Enns

Pianist Karen Enns has concertized as a chamber musician and vocal accompanist in Canada and the United States. A native of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Ms. Enns studied literature and music at Brock University and in 1989, received a Master of Music degree in Performance from the University of Western Ontario. Her principal teachers during those years included pianists Jane Hayes, Damjana Bratuz and Greta Kraus. A grant from the Canada Council enabled her to continue her studies in masterclasses with Gyorgy Sebok at the Banff Centre and in Switzerland.

Since moving to Victoria in 1992, Ms Enns has collaborated with many distinguished musicians including mezzo soprano Susan Platts, the Lafayette Quartet and the Galiano Ensemble. She has been a guest artist at numerous chamber music festivals including the Bear Lake Festival in Utah, the Hornby Island Festival, Chamber Music San Juan, and the Scotia Festivals Young Artist Series. Since the summer of 2000, she has been a member of the faculty at the Courtenay Youth Music Centre. Engagements in the 2001/2002 season include recitals in Ontario, Victoria, Sechelt, Seattles Town Hall, and Chamber Music San Juan.
