Featuring soulful jazz singer from Toronto, Sam Broverman and special guest, emotive chanteuse, Edie Daponte

Main Info:
Pianist and bandleader Attila Fias and his group present a magical evening of beloved jazz standards, performed by one of Toronto’s favourite singers, Sam Broverman. Special guest, Victoria’s sweetheart Edie Daponte will be joining for a couple of duets and a few of her own solo performances. Attila and his stellar band will also be sprinkling a few energetic instrumental pieces throughout.

Sam Broverman is a Winnipeg-born, Toronto based jazz singer and songwriter, a rich, mellow baritone who has performed in venues across Canada, the US, Europe and Asia. He has appeared on numerous national television shows, theater and cabaret productions and continues to perform regularly with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and at jazz clubs in Toronto and beyond. He has recorded the songs of Johnny Mercer, Sammy Kahn and Jimmy Van Heusen. He also enjoys writing his own compositions, especially parody and lighthearted songs, some which will be featured throughout the evening. Sam is also a professor of actuarial mathematics at the University of Toronto. Mind blown!

Edie Daponte is an award-winning beloved singer who has performed all over BC and Vancouver Island at festivals, shows and clubs and has amassed a faithful following. She moves seamlessly from jazz to bossa nova, blues and fado, switching between English, Portuguese, French and Spanish with ease. Her shows, including one featuring the music of Edith Piaf has been a fan favourite, with sell-out performances.

Come and experience an enchanting show that will take you back to the days of big city jazz club vocalists charming the room, with sumptuous musical selections and high quality performances to enjoy. You will be uplifted, moved, feeling sentimental, joyous and will also have a few laughs!
