Guest Slippers Festival: The Silver Sardines, Liam Cole

The Silver Sardines are a Montreal-based alt-folk band, though standing in the pit at one of their shows you might not always think it. The five-piece deals in dissonance and the occasional raucous outburst, adorning simple melodies with country, trad, and noise stylings alike. At their core though, they sing about the same things folk singers have always sung about: lonesomeness, manual labor, and the quiet absurdity of daily life. The five-piece released its debut LP That Whole House in 2024, with the follow-up Little Man, What Now? released in the fall of 2025.
