Event Description
Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at 1000 Islands Song Festival's PREVIEW WEEK. We start with a house concert featuring Kevin Head and Kristen Martell.
Award-winning bilingual Nova Scotia artist Kristen Martell blends heartfelt folk/pop songs and feathery vocals that linger long after the music fades. After two successful English studio albums, numerous award nominations and accolades, Kristen returned with a new chapter—an enchanting French album that pays tribute to her Acadian roots. With an edgier pop sensibility, the 2025 Music Nova Scotia ‘Prix de L’Acadie’ winning album bridges cultures and moods, offering a unique musical experience that is both reflective and vibrant.Through delicate ballads and emotional storytelling, she invites listeners into a world where cultures blend, and emotions flow freely.
Based out of Gananoque, Kevin Head is an award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. As an independent artist for 20+ years, he has played in many festivals and shows, including a national tour opening for Chris DeBurgh. He has released several recordings of original works, including “Live” and “Hear Them Calling”, along with two LPs made through the CBC. He has two albums available for streaming on Spotify and is currently recording new material at Long Shot Records. As an actor, he takes the stage in Halifax, Ottawa (NAC), and Kingston. You’ll catch him as part of the remount of Finnegan’s Wake coming in May-June 2026.
Every registration to this event will bring us closer to achieving our mission of realizing a full festival in September. Together, we can create a brighter, more musical downtown Brockville and 1000 Islands area!
