The UVic Symphony Orchestra presents a dynamic program that journeys through vivid musical landscapes, from operatic drama to symphonic grandeur, under the baton of guest conductor, Yariv Aloni.
Hear Rossini’s spirited Overture to La gazza ladra, and Jordan Nobles’ Apollo—an evocative, contemporary work exploring light and motion. The program continues with Smetana’s From Bohemia’s Woods and Fields (Má Vlast, No. 4), a richly textured tribute to the natural beauty of the Czech countryside plus Schumann’s powerful and passionate Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120.
Don’t miss this compelling evening of orchestral colour and expression.
This concert is part of the UVic School of Music’s Sounding Grounds festival, a 3-day gathering of new music, experimental sound, and interdisciplinary art.
