Event Description
Two of Canada's finest young artists, siblings Gwen and Desmond Hoebig perform the stirring Brahms Concerto for Violin and Cello. Maestro Laureate of the VSO, Kazuyoshi Akiyama conducts a program that also includes the Brahms First Symphony. This grand symphonic work has often been referred to as Beethoven's 10th for the quality and power of its musical statement. This concert, which celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Vancouver Women's Musical Society, also includes the World Premiere of a VWMS commissioned work by an up-and-coming new Canadian composer, Jason Nett.
