Join us Saturday, May 3 for the 17th annual HomeGrown Live Music Festival.
All-access wristbands are $10 and will be available at the door of each venue on the day of the festival. As always, proceeds go to The Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library.
3:00 PM - Sonny Slide Maddams
Sonny Slide is a blues/slide guitarist. He specializes in the blues of the 20's and 30's honouring the masters such as Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Mctell, and Bukka White. His repertoire also includes contemporary and original blues. Sonny instrument of choice is the National guitar.
4:00 PM - Steve Tanner ( Live From Steve's Porch)
Steve Tanner can be found playing acoustic blues and roots music at a variety of pubs, porches, patios and even pews. He enjoys performing his interpretations of classic blues and folk songs, and sprinkles a few of his original tunes in to mix it up.
5:00 PM - Stand Up Doubles
Stand Up Doubles - We are three skilled musicians, each with our own unique style of guitar, blended together to create our distinctive sound.
Our female vocalist leads the majority of our performances, delivering covers and original songs with passion and energy.
6:00 PM - Reverend Freddie Vendetta
Reverend FREDDIE VENDETTA Prohibition SPEAK EASY Show including songs and poetry from the Red Book by Dorey entitled You’re An Easy Kill Standing Still. Audience interactive and very danceable!
7:00 PM - Doghouse Blues Kings
Geoffrey Wickham and John Hanson have been playing together for over 25 years.
Both artists have released successful solo albums and have appeared frequently in Kingston
at The Limestone Blues Festival (The Wickham Brothers), The Homegrown Festival and live on CFRC Radio.
8:00 PM - Blue Syl and the Sweet Home Band
Blue Syl stands as a beacon of otherness in the blues world. With his roots in the Chicago blues tradition, the Tuva-inspired vocal technique, and an innovative guitar style, he breathes new life into the genre.
9:00 PM - Sweet Pete & The Heat
Sweet Pete and the Heat. Come and satisfy that sweet tooth.
10:00 PM - Hellhound Trail
Hellhound Trail is a Kingston-based modern blues band blending blues, soul, alt-rock, and old-timey country. Haunted by Delta blues legends yet pulsing with a modern edge, they craft gritty, heartfelt songs. Writing their first album, they’ll hit the studio in March to record a fiery five-song EP.
