Album release concert for Jocelyn Pettit & Ellen Gira’s sophomore album “Here to Stay”!
Award winning dynamic fiddle and cello duo, Jocelyn Pettit & Ellen Gira fuse traditional and contemporary music styles to create a powerfully uplifting and soulful performance. Winners of the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award for Trad Album of the Year for their debut album, their music has been described as “dazzling” (FolkWorld Magazine) and “simply exquisite” (Folk London Magazine).
Each an accomplished musician in their own right, with extensive performance histories and accolades, Jocelyn & Ellen found together a kindred musical spirit and joined forces in Glasgow in 2018. Since then, the duo has graced stages and captivated audiences throughout North America, the UK and Europe.
For this performance, Jocelyn & Ellen will be joined by exceptional guest guitarist, Everest Witman. Together, their instruments weave a rhythmic, textured sound with nuanced fiddle-cello-guitar interplay. Complemented with vocal harmonies and lively Canadian stepdancing, the trio bring life and fire into original tunes and high-energy repertoire from North America, Scotland, Ireland and Scandinavia.
