Event Description
Kahwa:tsire Indigenous Led Child and Family Programs are geared to children 0-6 years of age. The purpose of this program is to incorporate Indigenous teachings from various languages and cultures, particularly off-reserve where these teachings and resources are less readily available. We also aim to share our knowledge with non-indigenous allies to help educate others and debunk stereotypes.
We believe that every Indigenous child has a right to access teachings and resources about their valuable and beautiful cultures and this program strives to close the gap by providing such to families so that they can raise healthy, strong, resilient children who have a very strong sense of their self-identities as Indigenous children and people.
During March of the Museums, Kahwá:tsire Indigenous Programs will be joining the Military Communications Museum for an Indigenous Language lessons, and the Great Lakes Museum for Songs and Stories!
