For her latest documentary, director Shannon Walsh uses decidedly unconventional means to tell what is surely the grandest love story to be presented at KCFF this year. Mixing music-infused reenactments with eye-popping personal videos filmed during the two subjects’ incredible life together, Walsh’s film pays tribute to Alan and Adrianne, a couple who transformed their home in rural Illinois into a lavishly decorated castle that continues to stand as a testament to their love of artistic expression and their devotion to each other. Indeed, it’s a devotion so intense, it transcends even death.
