Sans le tambour qui bat, les mots n’existent pas.
Delphine est une jeune fille Wolastoqey rêveuse et déterminée. Depuis que son père a égaré le tambour de son défunt muhsums, Delphine s’est mis en tête de le retrouver coûte que coûte. Par une journée d’automne, alors que le vent se lève, Delphine est transportée dans le monde des esprits de la forêt. Elle y fera la rencontre du porc-épic espiègle, de la chouette chanteuse d’opéra, et du Kiwahq, la terrible bête au cœur de glace ! Réussira-t-elle à surmonter les défis de la forêt pour retrouver son tambour ? Avec sa pièce TOQAQ MECIMI PUWIHT / Delphine rêve toujours, l’auteur Wolastoqey Dave Jenniss aborde les thèmes de la transmission et de l’identité et fait résonner la langue de ses ancêtres qu’il se réapproprie. Ce spectacle bilingue en français et wolastoqey est porté par des artistes autochtones et allochtones.

Delphine is a dreamy, determined Wolastoqey girl. Ever since her father mislaid his late muhsums' drum, Delphine has been determined to find it, whatever the cost. One autumn day, as the wind picks up, Delphine is transported to the world of forest spirits. There she meets the mischievous porcupine, the opera-singing owl, and Kiwahq, the terrible beast with a heart of ice! Will she overcome the challenges of the forest to find her drum? With his play TOQAQ MECIMI PUWIHT / Delphine rêve toujours, Wolastoqey playwright Dave Jenniss tackles the themes of transmission and identity, and reappropriates the language of his ancestors. This bilingual show in French and Wolastoqey is performed by indigenous and non-indigenous artists.
