David Lynch, American filmmaker known for his surrealist, dreamlike films Eraserhead, The Elephant Man, Dune, and Lost Highway has made a huge impact on Victoria artists and audiences alike. This sparked Lily Fawn, band leader of Hush Hush Noise, to create a music project that inspired David Lynch Night : an evening of original live music, burlesque and physical comedy to showcase the extraordinary aspects of Lynch’s films. You can step into the ineffable world of David Lynch Night at the Victoria Event Centre on Friday February 23rd.
This event celebrates ALL of Lynch's films, igniting enthusiasm among both the artistic community and his fans. “Audiences from our past shows have expressed their immense love for the weird and wonderful immersive experience,” says event curator Lily Fawn. “Each artist creates and performs alongside projections of iconic scenes from their favorite Lynch film, so in a way each artist gets to collaborate with David Lynch himself.”
“Audiences love our shows for the excessive effort we put into them,” says Fawn. “We fully decorate the entire space with a thematic design, creating a surreal and immersive atmosphere that allows them to truly step into a moment from a Lynch film.” With an impressive lineup of over 15 performers including bands Dirty Power, Hush Hush Noise, Spectator 6, David P Smith, burlesque from Florence Fatale, and many surprises, David Lynch Night also invites audiences to dress in theme as their favorite Lynch character…or object (log outfit, anyone?)
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
