We're sad to report the loss of former CanUS drummer, friend and hugely talented and popular drummer in so many groups, Don Leppard. All our recordings and touring dixieland festivals was with the steady backup of his talent and about the only thing he did not contribute to the success of the band was singing for which we were all grateful. May you have found peace, Don. We will be inviting musicians who want to pay their respect to sit in.
Canus offers traditional New Orleans Jazz and with a group of the musicians who know how to get those feet tapping and lift your spirits in tough times with lots of room for you to bring friends as well. The musicians are well known to the fans of New Orleans jazz and have played together over the years to create a jolly musical interaction that comes with mutual respect and years of sharing the love of this unique genre.
Trumpet played by Alfons Fear is bringing you those loved melodies, with the addition of some vocals , boosted by the Benny Goodman-esque clarinet of Al Pease, also on tenor sax in that beautiful Coleman Hawkins style. Simon Stribling adds that Aussie joy to his musical trombone, reeds and vocals. Avram McCagherty brings a sparkle to any of the many bands he leads and we get to enjoy him, too. His banjo and vocals are a treasure for our city and then - wait for it…underpinning it all is the one of the best bass players you will find anywhere, Joey Smith along with Laurie Lyster, fabulous on the drums and vocals, too. So to finish and embellish is the early jazz piano style & vocals of Toni Blodgett, leader. I think you will want to be there with us here at Canada’s oldest jazz club and restaurant rated #1 of them all. And the live stream will bring the show to you wherever you are in the world!
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
