An evening with Wendy Wickwire and Meenal Shrivastava
Wendy Wickwire, professor emerita of History, University of Victoria, will be reading from 'At the Bridge: James Teit and an Anthropology of Belonging', a biography of Indigenous rights activist James Teit. Her book is described as one of the most important books on BC’s history to appear in years. Born in Jaipur and now living in North Saanich, Meenal Shrivastava is professor of political economy and global studies, Athabasca University. She will read from 'Amma’s Daughters', her first work of creative non-fiction. Her book weaves interviews, her mother and grandmother’s writings, and archival research to tell the story of her remarkable family.
