A new group honing their tones whilst living together at the crossroads. Imagine if Leonard Cohen took the reigns of Crazy Horse or Neutral Milk Hotel. You can get lost in the poetry or dance your faces off. “Those Hoodlums that make beautiful music."
The High Quadra Ramblers Victoria, BC
https://thehighquadraramblers.bandcamp.com/releases
The High Quadra Ramblers are newly formed duo creating their own interpretation of traditional music – fusing oldtime with classical, metis, bluegrass and more. Hailing from the East Coast and the West Coast, these ramblers bring both sides of the continent together for the love of traditional music.
The Ramblers were formed during the cold long winter over a need for mournful appalachian mountain tunes and a love of traditional music. Mack has played fiddle since he was 8, competing in Western Canadian fiddle competitions and developing a wild, syncopated style. Kaitlin picked up the banjo after playing guitar and piano all her life and found a rhythmic, melodic bliss. Banjo and fiddle are a timeless partnership of instruments. With beautiful oldtime vocal harmonies and skilled instrumentation, they weave intricate notes over the droning backdrop of clawhammer banjo. They play a wide range of traditional music, from metis to celtic, appalachian, oldtime, bluegrass, cajun and roots. Expect high-energy hillbilly hoedowns to droney, middle-eastern inspired instrumentals.

Vic Horvath is a singer-songwriting whose recently released debut album, West Coast Reign, is currently at number 8 on Earshot's National Folk/Roots/Blues Charts. Their music navigates social changes in Canada, looking through the lens of what it means to be queer in our times."
