Event Description
On May 20, 2016, as part of its Concert nouvelle scène series, Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver will showcase Céline Hodler, alias “Ch’tite fille” (“Li'l Girl”) for the first time.
Accompanying herself on guitar and ukulele, she will perform her own folk compositions in French and in English, as well as covers of songs by some of her favourite artists, including Georges Brassens, Edith Piaf, Renaud and Francis Cabrel. This will be an opportunity to share and discover her scenic performances and vast repertoire.
Céline Holder moved to Canada from her native France in 2004. Ever since her arrival, she has been warmly welcomed on the music scene of the City of Quebec. She enjoyed five wonderful years of vocal and musical collaboration with the choir “Voix Nouv’elles”, which has been an invaluable opportunity to hone her vocal and composition skills. In the fall of 2014, Vancouver was first introduced to her talent at an open-mic session. In January 2015, after 10 years as a practicing musician in Canada, the singer-composer-songwriter created her stage persona Ch’tite fille (Li'l Girl).
On Friday, May 20, on the Studio 16 stage, Ch’tite fille will bring an evening of gentle, relaxing music with a French accent to the Vancouver public.
