Equipped with formidable technical skills and a cheeky attitude, the jazz trio known as MOON HOOCH were legendary subway buskers whose intoxicating combination of twin saxes and a drum kit tended to create instant rave parties on Brooklyn subway platforms. Before long, all that partying got them banned by the NYPD. Now with two albums out, and an expanded repertoire of house-music sounds that includes synth-pop, vocals, and plinky keyboards, Moon Hooch are a super-smart party band who have ridden the subway to mainstream success. Michael Wilbur saxophones/vocals/synthesizers, James Muschler drums/percussion/synthesizers, and Wenzl McGowen saxophones/clarinet/synthesizers
