Widely known as an artist with an original, authentic voice, Kinnie relies on “raw feral talent” (Globe and Mail), solid groove, and a love for wordplay whether performing sensual and literate hip-hop, heartfelt guitar songs or spoken word. The New Yorker describes this proud mixed blood Mohawk as “edgy and enchanting”.
Performing with her band, the passionate and soulful singer/songwriter, Leela Gilday confesses stories to the audience with an open stage presence and gutsy voice that comes straight from her heart. She weaves her experiences as a northerner, a member of the Dene nation, and a traveler into a beautiful world that transports the listener.
