Event Description
UBC Persian Club presents a spontaneous evening of folk-bending, culture-blending music. Jazz quartet Hildegard's Ghost starts off in the Euro-American tradition with a marriage of electro-acoustic compositions and improvisations. Sina Ettehad (kamancheh -Persian violin) and Amarjeet Singh (tablas) reflect the improvisation styles of Hindustani and Persian cultures in their unique duo exploring the mysticism, poetry, and musical subtleties of both folklores. Together, the groups grow beyond borders through the beating heart of rhythm and meeting of melodies.
