Event Description

The Ben Thomas Quartet he will perform traditional tangos (Golden Era of the 1930’s- 50’s), original compositions by Thomas, milonga (the music from the habanera that is the mother of tango), and the works of the great composer and inventor of Nuevo, Astor Piazzolla.

Ben has become infatuated with the bandoneon. In 2007 he went to the Academia Nacional del Tango in Buenos Aires and studied with several tango greats, including the maestro bandoneonist, Osvaldo Montes. He has been performing tango music, traditional to Nuevo and original compositions, over the last decade with: Tango Abrazo Q. E. D. and the Ben Thomas Quartet.
