Saanich Parks & Recreation's Arts Centre at Cedar HIll, Aberdeen Hospital
The Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation, & the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria
Event Description
In celebration of the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation’s Embrace Aging Month, The Arts Centre at Cedar Hill is hosting two art exhibitions. The Main Gallery features an exhibition of works created by extended care residents from Aberdeen Hospital, Saanich Peninsula Hospital, the Lodge at Broadmead, and Cumberland Lodge. Based on a special partnership program between Island Health’s Aberdeen Hospital and the District of Saanich’s Arts Centre at Cedar Hill, complex care residents met with the Recreation Therapist at Aberdeen, Arts Centre instructors and programmers weekly at Aberdeen and once per month in the studios at The Arts Centre. This program not only accomplished therapeutic and rehabilitation goals but also created a sense of belonging and community engagement for the participants. It culminates with this public exhibition offered with the support of the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria.
The Café Gallery features an exhibition organized by The Community Arts Council of works created by participants in art programs offered at Mount St. Mary Hospital, Luther Court and the MS Society.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
