Long before Green Day and Blink 182 inflicted punk-rock's puncture wound on the map of mainstream music, the Descendents were in a garage concocting the perfect mix of pop, angst, love, and coffee.
FILMAGE: THE STORY OF DESCENDENTS / ALL follows band leader/drummer/square-peg Bill Stevenson and his "caffeinated retardedness" as he pushes his rotating door of bandmates to "achieve ALL," his philosophy of going for greatness at all costs. Stevenson is a force to be reckoned with, proving that not even a grapefruit-sized brain tumor can keep him down.
Interviews with the band, along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Mike Watt (Minutemen), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion) and many more reveal the story of a band--if not THE band-- responsible for pop-punk as you know it.
The film was produced over two years and funded directly by the filmmakers. They traveled all over the United States to film many of the resurgent DESCENDENTS and ALL live performances including DESCENDENTS first show back in almost a decade at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas late 2010.
Along with the live shows, over 50 formal on camera interviews were filmed with the members of the band and some of the most noteworthy people in punk rock's history including: Mike Watt (Minutemen), Keith Morris & Chuck Dukowski (Black Flag), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion), Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Bad Religion), Fat Mike (NOFX), Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) and Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) to name a few. There is also plenty of behind the scenes and candid moments with the band, family/friends and fans to help bring the story to life.
