This dance will be modelled after 'Old-Time PRAIRIE BARN Dances' that have been the glue of our farming communities across the country during the last 100 years. During the winter time especially, since farmers are most busy farming in the summer, old-time fiddle dances have provided entertainment and a welcome social respite to long, cold winter nights. When not in barns, dances were often held in one room school houses with the stove stoked and all the desks piled up on top of each other to make room for a dance floor. There is no 'caller' and most dances are executed in a counter clockwise motion around the dance floor in couples. These are polkas, waltzes, schottisches and the like. Then there are numerous 'novelty' dances such as the Butterfly, the Mexican Hat Dance, the Heel and Toe, the 7 Step and even the Bird Dance gets played on occasion. All ages are welcome, but little toddlers will more likely hang out around the edges of the dance floor or the stage (or in their parent's arms). The band will consist of fiddle and guitar played by Daniel Lapp and Adam Dobres.

For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
