Event Description

Panic in the World! is pleased to present:
a good ole’ fashioned Saint Paddy’s Day BASH!!

The perfect excuse to show your Irish pride. Green beer all round! Come raise a pint and do a little jig with
The Hard Knockers, The Irish Taxmen, The Broken Mirrors and Pineapple at the historic Railway Club!

*** Formerly the Knackers, THE HARD KNOCKERS weave traditional tales laced with infectious original material that will make you want to simultaneously grab hold of your dance partner and cry into your green beer. You have been warned. A full six-piece band that includes a fiddle, mandolin, bagpipes and tin whistle, they’re heavily under the influence…of the Pogues and the Mahones—what could be better?!

***“We're bigger than Jesus.” –John Lennon.
Donning matching green vests, thick accents and an undeniable love of Liverpool’s most famous sons, the IRISH TAXMEN are known as the Irish Beatles. Playing two sets of your favourite hits! Come sing along with Elliot Langford as George Harrison, Kevin Romain as Ringo Starr,
Jo Hirabayashi as Paul McCartney and Aaron McKinney as John Lennon.

***After 12 years touring the world with underground legend CR Avery, lead guitarist Noah Walker started THE BROKEN MIRRORS with some of Vancouver’s most multi-talented musicians, also taking on vocal duties. Bassist Michael Rush is a top jazz player, Tom Heukendorff (the Release) plays Hammond organ, and drummer Michael Simpsonelli toured Japan in the midst of the earthquake with the legendary SNFU and KMFDM. The musicianship of Wilco, the energy of The Talking Heads, the style and humour of Beck, with a dash of Elvis Costello, expect a demo and cross Canada tour soon!

*** While a bit of an enigma, PINEAPPLE’s roster reads like a who’s who of Vancouver music: Cameron Dilworth (Neins Circa) on vocals and guitar, Cary Pratt (aka Prairie Cat) behind the kit, John Sponarski (Joint Chiefs of Math) on guitar and synth and Aaron McKinney (SSRIs) on bass. Playing quirky indie pop (with a campy Irish angle), jokes and good times are sure to be had!
