Event Description
Camosun College's African Awareness Committee (AAC), Surge Ahead and Metropol are teaming up to raise money for Kiva and the AAC. Some of Victoria's finest local talent Tyler Harvey, DJ Fatso and The Funky Blue Rocks, will be taking the stage at Lucky Bar to raise money for the cause. Kiva is a non for profit organization that helps entrepreneurs in peripheral countries get their small business going through loans. The idea is to help create self sustainability by helping these small business' get established.
Camosun College's African Awareness Committee strives to raise awareness of the issues surrounding Africa. The Committee supports many grass roots projects such as Congo Week, AfriGran, AIDs awareness and hosts fundraiser for different causes pertaining but not limited to Africa. Last year's "A Night Of World Infused Rock" Fundraiser for Haiti raised around $1000 for those in need. Were hoping to exceed that amount this year.
