The Joint Chiefs of Math have been described as “the saviours of a stagnant rock and roll era,” and “counter-cultural, subversive, truly artistic, and vital to any functioning democracy.” So don’t leave home without The Joint Chiefs of Math and tell your friends: rock and roll is back, and this time it’s icy.

Connor McGuire is a 22 year old singer, songwriter and guitar player from White Rock, BC, Canada.

As Synthesis Magazine wrote:

“As a songwriter, the difference between hiding behind poorly-constructed metaphors and creating phrases that strike from the bone and come right from the heart is like night and day. There’s poetry in the day to day and honest simplicity will always trump complicated purple prose. That’s why Connor McGuire is our ‘Band You’ve Never Heard of Band of the Day’… His lyrical couplets follow ideas to their full conclusion, blending axioms and blunt moments into a seamless earnestness.”

“Different After Dawn” was a solo acoustic album co-produced by Connor McGuire and his father Ra, singer and song writer for Canada’s legendary rock band Trooper. It was played chiefly on college radio in North America and landed on charts like the University of Alberta’s ‘top 10 folk/roots albums’. Tom Harrison of the Vancouver Province newspaper awarded the album an overall grade of “B”, alongside similarly graded international heavy hitters like KT Tunstall. www.connor-mcguire.com
