Fri August 21st Lighta! Sound and SUB OSC present Filastine live alongside Vancouver's Basketball and Sorcerers at The Rickshaw. Barcelona based Filastine fuses middle eastern percussion, bass driven electronic beats and a D.I.Y. ethos into an incendiary live performance. Filastine is recognized world wide as a figurehead of the "International Bass" sound, pushing the liminal edges of Dubstep, Breakcore and traditional sounds from around the globe. Openers Basketball have developed a devoted local fanbase as a result of their spectacular live reputation. Basketball combine powerful hypnotic percussion, propulsive experimental electronics and vocal chants creating serious dancefloor catharisis. Sorcerers feature Lighta! Sound's own Mike Campitelli (aka Calamalka) on drums in a raw mixture of old school roots dub and skate punk. This event is taking place at the newly opened Rickshaw Theatre at 254 E. Hastings and will feature Lighta! and SUB OSC's trademark thunderous bass sound and wicked underground vibe.
