More capacity limits for live music venues
Premier Ford has
announced today that the provincial government will be applying a 50% capacity limit to all indoor settings, with few exceptions, along with reintroducing several other public health restrictions. Effective 12:01am on Sunday December 19, the following public health measures will be in effect:
- Indoor social gathering limit reduced from 25 to 10 people
- Maximum outdoor social gathering limit reduced from 100 to 25 people
- 50% capacity limits applied to ALL indoor settings, excluding a business or place that is being used for wedding, funeral, religious services, rites, or ceremonies. Note: this does not apply to supply chain workplaces such as manufacturing facilities or construction.
- No food or drink services in:
- Sporting events;
- Concert venues, theatres, and cinemas
- Casinos, bingo halls, and other gaming establishments
- Horse racing tracks, car racing tracks and other similar venues
- No dancing at food or drink establishments including nightclubs, restoclubs, and other similar establishments with indoor dance facilities, with exceptions for establishments with outdoor dance facilities
- Bars and restaurants and meeting and event spaces to close service at 11pm, excluding take-out
- Number of patrons at a table at restaurants and meeting and event spaces limited to a maximum of 10 and patrons required to remain seated
- Sale of alcohol will be restricted after 10pm and the consumption of alcohol in businesses or settings after 11pm
