Music Manager's Forum Canada (MMF) has announced a new five-part series of webinars called MMF Level Up: Navigating Entertainment Law.
The series, which is open to MMF members and non-members, is, "…designed to equip artist managers and self-managed artists with vital legal insights to thrive in the dynamic entertainment industry," stated MMF in an email announcement.
"Led by seasoned entertainment law experts, this comprehensive series delves into critical aspects of entertainment law specifically tailored to elevate your management strategies and safeguard your artistic endeavors," the statement explained.
The first webinar is scheduled for Wednesday October 18 at 1:00 p.m. and is titled "Artist Management Agreements Demystified." It will focus on exposing the nuances of Artist Management Agreements, understanding key clauses, negotiation strategies, and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships to drive artist success. It will be led by Byron Pascoe, an entertainment lawyer and partner with Edwards Creative Law; Matthew Gorman an entertainment lawyer, practicing in Cox & Palmer’s Halifax office, and; Paul Banwatt, co-founder of Slingshot, Gilbert’s LLP’s award-winning service for start-ups and small businesses.

All webinars in the series are free for MMF members, or $50 each for non-members. Sessions will be recorded and recordings will be shared with all registrants after each webinar.
