I am a local musician Jack McAvoy. I'm a solo acoustic act that primarily focuses on rock, alternative and pop. I tackle the songs of The Tragically Hip, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Blink 182, Johnny Cash and more. At 29 years old old enough to know how to play these songs well and young enough to play them with energy peeps enjoy (without an iPad in front of me).
My previous project Enrights, where I played guitar and sang, was an in-your-face alternative rock group reminiscent of Sloan or the Arkells. We were based out of Kingston, had multiple releases and developed a relatively strong following. This project had me playing alongside the Sam Roberts Band, The Trews, Theory of a Deadman, Sloan, Bros (of Sheepdog fame) and Buckcherry. We were even lucky enough to have our music featured on an NHL broadcast! I will link some of our music, press coverage and more below. This is just to show you that I can carry a tune and am a relatively decent musician. I also play lead guitar for a Belleville-based group called Cat Named Earl.
Long live in-person music.
